Configuring the browser extension

In most cases, the browser extension automatically works when you are logged in on the Punchtime website. Certain computer configurations require an extra step.

In your browser, navigate to Trello.com and open one of your boards. After the board loads, you should see a Punchtime header in the right-hand sidebar with a Sign in button.

If, at this point, you do not see a sign in button but a button allowing your to create a log, you can stop reading: your extension is already configured and ready to go!

After clicking the Sign in button, a dialog will pop up.

Follow the steps outlined in the dialog:
  • If you do not have an account yet, click the button to sign up. After signing up, come back to the dialog and proceed to the second step.
  • Once you have an account click the "View your Punchtime account" button to open your account settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find your "Access Token". We need this special token to access your Punchtime data outside of Punchtime itself. Select the whole token and copy (windows: control-c, mac: command-c) it.
  • In the third step, paste (windows: control-v, mac: command-v) the token into the input field. Click Done.

After clicking done the page will reload and the extension will begin fetching your Punchtime data. Buttons will appear in the sidebar to indicate the board has loaded.

You can now start using the extension!
